FAQ - What is a story?

One of my most frequently asked questions is what is a story?

My personal brand photography sessions are based on stories. Watch the video below or read on to find out more.

When I meet with my clients I ask them about what stories they are sharing on social media and how we can tell those stories with photos. Each story might be a different location with a different outfit. We capture about 15-20 photos per story.

Storytelling is a powerful marketing tool. If you can make a connection with your customer first through story and sell to them second that is an effective marketing tool.

Funny fact about me: I'm a horrible story teller! I've been researching how to tell better stories. Maybe that's why I love to capture stories in a photo? Because I'm horrible with words! LOL.

One book I recommend for those who are like me and are challenged in storytelling is The Storytellers Secret by Carmin Gallo.

Below are some photos I captured for Jenna and Her Mom. They are social anxiety coaches. They had very specific stories they wanted to share to go along with courses they are launching, an ebook they are writing, etc...

They wanted photos about travel.

Sleep.

Pet therapy.

Working out of the office (from home, outdoors, or anywhere).

They also needed some professional photos to use as profile pictures, signature images on newsletters, speaking engagements, etc...
